Texas Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett Urges Activists to “Take Down” Elon Musk During Tesla Takedown Organizing Call

On Wednesday evening, Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) joined a virtual Tesla Takedown organizing call, where she rallied activists to target billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk. The outspoken Texas Democrat told participants that her birthday wish, set for March 29, is to see Musk “taken down.” The call, hosted by Tesla Takedown organizers, outlined plans for widespread protests on that date, including 500 demonstrations targeting all 277 Tesla showrooms across the United States.

During her remarks, Rep. Crockett emphasized her personal stake in the cause, stating, “All I want to see happen on my birthday is for Elon to be taken down.” Her comments drew a swift reaction from Musk himself, who responded on X to a video of the congresswoman’s statements posted by journalist Laura Loomer, writing simply, “Wow.”

The Tesla Takedown call featured other notable participants, including Micah Lee, former Director of Information Security, who recently authored a blog post titled “Fight Fascism and Elon Musk by Taking Down Tesla.” Published on March 3, 2025, on his personal website, micahflee.com, Lee urged activists to refrain from defacing Tesla vehicles with swastikas. Instead, he suggested alternative messages, writing, “If you’re going to vandalize a Cybertruck, write ‘f**k Nazis,’ or draw a penis or something. Don’t put more swastikas into the world.”

Another speaker, Professor Joan Donovan, formerly the Research Director of Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics, and Public Policy, also joined the call. Donovan, who led the Technology and Social Change Research Project from 2019 to August 2023, alleged that Musk’s public persona masks a more sinister agenda. Referencing his signature black hat, she claimed it symbolizes “his black hat attack and data heist of our Federal Government,” labeling him a “black hat hacker who has broken into our government.” Financial records indicate that during Donovan’s tenure, the Shorenstein Center received millions of dollars in funding from George Soros’s Open Society Foundations to support research on media manipulation and public education about disinformation.

The escalating rhetoric has coincided with growing unrest at Tesla facilities. On Thursday morning, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced “serious charges” in response to what she described as a “wave of domestic terrorism” targeting Tesla dealerships and charging stations. Bondi condemned the perpetrators as “domestic terrorists and violent Tesla arsonists,” signaling a robust legal response to the protests, which have turned increasingly volatile.

Rep. Crockett and other elected Democrats on Capitol Hill may now face scrutiny over their apparent alignment with Tesla Takedown groups. As anti-Trump protests at Tesla showrooms grow less peaceful, questions are mounting about the involvement of public officials in a movement critics say is veering into violence. With tensions rising, the planned March 29 demonstrations loom as a potential flashpoint in this unfolding controversy.
